The Moses and Frances Asch Collection of Folkways Records

The Sound Studies Initiative at the University of Alberta provides a home for over 2,000 Folkways records donated to the university by company founder, Moses Asch: The Moses and Frances Asch Collection of Folkways Records.

Building on this valuable collection, the Sound Studies Initiative houses a digital archive, provides research opportunities, and presents public performances that relate to and enhance Moses Asch’s philosophy and traditions — featuring artists as diverse as Alberta’s Asani, Corb Lund and the Hurtin' Albertans, and eclecTrip, to New York’s Trio Tarana and Japan’s Pro Musica Nipponia.
